Let's talk money, no beating around the bush. When you're looking for a place to leave your dog, the first thing you want to know is how much it will cost and exactly what that price includes. At Madagascar Pet Hotel we believe in full transparency, so here are our real 2026 prices, what's included, and which factors can change the final cost.
How much does dog boarding cost in Aguascalientes?
At Madagascar Pet Hotel, dog boarding starts at $286 MXN per night, VAT included, with no hidden fees. The rate is the same on weekdays and weekends, and applies to dogs of all breeds and ages. The minimum stay is 1 night, with check-in at 2:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM.
That price is all-inclusive: we don't charge extra for administering medication, serving special diets, or daily walks. We've been operating in Aguascalientes for over 30 years (since 1994), and our philosophy has always been that quality basic care shouldn't be billed as an add-on.
What exactly does the nightly rate include?
The $286 MXN nightly rate includes a private cage-free suite, 24/7 veterinary supervision, three meals a day, supervised walks, and a daily photo and video report via WhatsApp. Here's the full breakdown:
| Item | Included? | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Private suite (cage-free) | Yes | Individual room per pet |
| 24/7 veterinary access | Yes | On-call vet, plus staff on site around the clock |
| 3 daily meals | Yes | Standard diet or food you provide |
| Supervised walks | Yes | 1–2 per day, groups of 3–4 pets per staff member |
| Medication administration | Add-on | Given by trained staff on your schedule; priced by treatment |
| Specialized diets | Yes | You provide the food; we prepare and schedule it |
| Daily photos and videos | Yes | Via WhatsApp, every day |
| Daily health check | Yes | By the veterinary team |
| Grooming and bath | No | Add-on service, quoted by breed |
| TaxiPet (transport) | No | Quoted by distance |
How much does daycare cost?
Daycare starts at $200 MXN per day, Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. It includes supervised play groups, rest periods in private areas, a midday meal, and photo updates during the day. It's the ideal option if you work outside the home and don't want your dog spending the day alone. Learn more on our dog daycare in Aguascalientes page.
Which factors can change the total cost?
The total cost depends mainly on the length of the stay, the number of pets, and any add-on services you choose. These are the most common adjustments:
- Extended stays: pay for 15 days upfront and receive 30 days of credit, valid 12 months and splittable across stays.
- Two pets: board them on the same dates for 14+ days and the lower-rate pet stays free (2×1). Ask us about discounts for multiple pets and advance bookings.
- Grooming and spa: bath, breed-specific haircut, and dental hygiene are quoted separately by size and coat type. See our dog grooming in Aguascalientes service.
- TaxiPet: if you'd rather have us pick up and drop off your dog at home, transport is quoted by distance.
We accept cash, credit cards (Visa/Mastercard), and debit cards, and all prices already include Mexico's 16% VAT.
Is it cheaper to leave your dog with family or a pet sitter?
Leaving your dog with a relative can cost $0, but the real cost is measured in supervision, routine, and emergency response. It's worth an honest comparison:
- With family: no direct cost, but your dog depends on the availability of someone who also has their own routine. If a health issue comes up, there isn't always someone who can recognize the symptoms in time.
- With an in-home pet sitter: your dog stays in a familiar environment, but typically gets visits of minutes or hours, not continuous company — and sitters rarely have veterinary training.
- At a pet hotel: for $286 MXN a night, your dog has round-the-clock veterinary supervision, three meals, daily walks, and you get daily photo and video proof. If anything medical happens, we contact you immediately and clear protocols kick in.
For a weekend trip, the difference may seem small. For a one- or two-week trip — or if your dog takes medication, is a puppy, or is a senior — continuous professional supervision makes an enormous difference.
Are there hidden charges or billing surprises?
No. Boarding is billed by the night and daycare by the session, and the quote you receive is what you pay. A few billing details worth knowing upfront:
- Special diets: if you supply the food, we prepare and serve it on your dog's schedule at no surcharge — including prescription diets such as renal.
- Medication administration: an add-on priced by treatment. Trained staff give prescribed medication at the exact times you specify.
- Senior or special-needs pets: cared for at the same base rate; what changes is the care plan, not the nightly price.
- Sunday pick-ups: arranged by prior agreement, with no surprise penalty fee.
- Medical emergencies: if your dog ever needed care beyond basic first aid, we contact you before any intervention. Nothing is decided — or charged — without your authorization.
Transparency is part of the service too: throughout the stay you receive daily photos and videos via WhatsApp, and at check-out we hand you a summary of your dog's health during the stay.
How do you lock in your spot at the best price?
Book 3 to 7 days ahead for regular dates, and 2 to 4 weeks ahead for holidays like Easter week, summer, or December. The rate doesn't go up in high season, but space does run out. We have two locations in Aguascalientes — in Colonia Héroes (north) and Jardines del Sol (south) — so you can choose whichever is closer.
